Whatever your reason for visiting our islands, the West End Guest House has accommodation to meet your needs.

Constructed in 1824, the Georgian building was originally one of Kirkwall’s “finest town houses” before becoming the county’s first hospital in 1845. In the early 1900’s it was transformed into the West End Hotel and run as such for many years.

Today, almost 200 years later, the West End Guest House has been described as the “ideal blend of the old and modern”, with a few slanted floors within to remind us of the age of the building and add to it’s charming character!

Our comfortable en-suite rooms include single, twin, double and super king rooms.

All rooms are non-smoking and have:

  • Digital TV
  • Hairdryer
  • Complimentary tea and coffee making facilities
  • Free WIFI
  • Linen and towels

Please note if you have any personal mobility restrictions that our rooms are located over 3 floors and there is no lift facility.

Our free car park is situated to the rear of the hotel. If you are driving to us, please direct yourself to Manse Lane, rather than our postal address on Main Street. You will find us just a little way in on this lane. When you enter the guest house from the carpark entrance, please bear in mind that you come in on the first floor, with reception located on the ground floor.
